The Technical FGM consultant will be based in the Arab World Regional Office in Tunisia and will provide several activities that aim at supporting the ongoing FGM/GBV program. The selected consultant will ensure all activities of the FGM program under the NORAD funding agreement are delivered in a technically accurate and in line with the IPPF Gender Equality policy and the IPPF client-centred clinical guidelines.

S/he will work in close collaboration with the AWRO Member associate support and development Director to ensure safe delivery of FGM project services. S/he will be the focal point for building the capacity of Member Associates to ensure the implementation of safe and appropriate FGM interventions.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical direction that ensures that health interventions related to Sexual and Reproductive health, and FGM/C, are technically sound and harmonized with IPPF client-centred clinical guidelines.
  • Identify the main risks in delivering GBV and FGM/C services in the targeted region, and develop strategies, procedures, and tools to mitigate said risks that are implemented by all consortium members (if needed).
  • Conduct ongoing supervision of GBV and FGM services to ensure they are aligned to the aims of the NORAD project objectives, service delivery needs, and expected results.
  • Ensures that the project workplans for the technical area updated and that timelines and deliverables are being met.
  • Contribute to the production of regular project reporting per donor and project requirements.
  • Deliver and finalize the FGM regional (TOC) Theory of Change and conduct online sessions with regional stakeholders to present.
  • Finalize AWRO evaluation tool for the NORAD project
  • Consolidate the FGM global programming achievements and Draft a summary publication to be used for donors use.
  • Accompany the team for monitoring visit planned in the first quarter of 2023 in relation to FGM project sites.
  • Draft concept note and Agenda for the lesson learned for the CoE annual workshop in Nouakchott.

Background

The International Planned Parenthood Federation - Arab World Region (IPPF-AWR) is organizing a psychological support day for its staff and member associations. The event will gather approximately 50 participants, including staff from the Tunis office and representatives from member associations working in conflict-affected areas such as Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Sudan and Yemen.

This event aims to foster team cohesion, provide psychological support, and promote psychosocial rehabilitation through targeted activities. Given the challenging environments in which many participants work, the day will be designed to reduce stress, enhance mental well-being, and build a sense of solidarity.

 

Objective

The main objective of this event is to deliver a Team Building and Psychological Support Day focused on:

- Enhancing team cohesion and communication between participants.

- Providing psychological support and tools to cope with stress, trauma, and burnout.

- Offering psychosocial rehabilitation through games and activities focused on mental health.

 

Scope of Work

The service provider will be responsible for the following tasks:

  1. Venue & Logistics:

   - Identify and book a suitable venue or hotel near Tunis.

   - Arrange catering (meals and beverages) for all participants throughout the day.

   - Ensure transportation with a bus service to pick up participants from the Sheraton Hotel in the morning and drop them off in the evening.

  1. Program Design:

   - Develop a comprehensive team-building program with activities designed to strengthen teamwork, collaboration, and communication.

   - Include psychological support activities aimed at stress relief, mental health awareness, and coping mechanisms for participants from conflict zones.

   - Provide games and exercises focused on psychosocial rehabilitation, designed to address trauma and promote emotional well-being.

  1. Facilitation:

   - Provide qualified facilitators experienced in conducting team-building and mental health-focused events, particularly for participants from high-stress environments.

   - Ensure that all activities are interactive, inclusive, and adapted to the specific needs of the participants.

  1. Materials & Equipment:

   - Supply any necessary materials, equipment, or props required for the team-building exercises and psychological support sessions.

  1. Reporting:

   - Provide a post-event report summarizing the day's activities, outcomes, and feedback from participants.

 

Deliverables

The service provider is expected to deliver the following:

- A detailed technical and financial proposal, including costs for the venue, catering, transportation, materials, and facilitation.

- A proposed agenda and list of activities for the day.

- The bus transport schedule from the Sheraton Hotel and back.

- A post-event report summarizing the outcomes and feedback.

- High-quality photos of the event, covering key activities and moments (minimum of 50 edited photos) + a group photo (30 copy).

- A 3-5 minute recap video of the event, summarizing the activities and key highlights.

2. Objective

The selected provider will be tasked with delivering professional remote mental health services to help address the needs of individuals within our member associations.

 

3. Scope of Services

The service provider will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive range of remote mental health support, comprising:

  • 100 individual remote sessions tailored to address mental health needs, including counseling, therapy, and psychoeducation.

Each session should be conducted online or through other accessible remote methods that ensure privacy and confidentiality.

 

4. Duration of Services

The contract will cover 100 individual sessions. There is no time-bound restriction for the duration of the contract.

 

5. Reporting Requirements

The service provider must provide regular reports detailing:

- Attendance list for individual sessions

Role Purpose:

This role is about bringing in, through partnerships, those who have been historically excluded from our services, our offices and our societies because of the colour of your skin, disability status, injecting drug use, sex work, HIV status, sexual identity or gender expression. This role is deliberate in its inclusion of those excluded, who have the experience and the credibility that comes from having helped organize communities from within, at national and regional levels successfully. Who through that organizing have come to the inter-section of SRHRJ and are now ready to build strategic, disruptive partnerships with the organizations/services that have excluded them. There is full support within the most senior levels of IPPF to support this role, the disruption it brings and the possibilities.

Context of role:

  • The essence of this job is to bring the lived experience and the strategic thinking of regional community networks inside, establish ‘beachheads’ that will allow marginalised communities to step inside the Secretariat/Federation and shake us up.
  • This is a role for someone who brings their own lived experience and regional networks, who prioritizes collaboration and connection. This work will go beyond the Federation to amplify messages, build alliances and consortia and re-grant to movements and initiatives that matter.
  • The role invokes courage, ambition and aspiration by with MAs and regional colleagues to create partnerships with regional community networks that collectively ensure IPPF, its services and activism becomes more accessible to those traditionally excluded and marginalised.
  • The role will work with MAs and outside the Federation to uncover and connect with non-traditional Partnerships that will make a positive difference to the progress of our work.

  • To establish purpose driven disruptive partnerships with community networks; ensuring they are led by people who have historically been marginalized from the sector, or who could amplify their work through the IPPF platform at the regional level. 1. Background

The International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) is a global organization dedicated to ensuring people are free to make choices about their sexuality and well-being.

The Arab World Region is one of the six regions of the Federation in the world. The International Planned Parenthood Federation works in the Arab World Region with 12 Member Associations and 2 collaborative partners in Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon, Mauritania, Morocco, Palestine, Somaliland, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Yemen, Jordan and Pakistan.

Given the challenging circumstances faced in Palestine, Sudan, Yemen, Syria, and Lebanon, providing mental health support services is crucial for our staff member in our region to effectively serve their communities.

 

2. Objective

The primary objective of this service request is to outline the requirements for acquiring remote mental health support services. The selected provider will be tasked with delivering professional remote mental health services to help address the needs of individuals within our member associations.

 

3. Scope of Services

The service provider will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive range of remote mental health support, comprising:

  • 100 individual remote sessions tailored to address mental health needs, including counseling, therapy, and psychoeducation.

Each session should be conducted online or through other accessible remote methods that ensure privacy and confidentiality.

 

4. Duration of Services

The contract will cover 100 individual sessions. There is no time-bound restriction for the duration of the contract.

 

5. Reporting Requirements

The service provider must provide regular reports detailing:

- Attendance list for individual sessions

Role Purpose:

This role is about bringing in, through partnerships, those who have been historically excluded from our services, our offices and our societies because of the colour of your skin, disability status, injecting drug use, sex work, HIV status, sexual identity or gender expression. This role is deliberate in its inclusion of those excluded, who have the experience and the credibility that comes from having helped organize communities from within, at national and regional levels successfully. Who through that organizing have come to the inter-section of SRHRJ and are now ready to build strategic, disruptive partnerships with the organizations/services that have excluded them. There is full support within the most senior levels of IPPF to support this role, the disruption it brings and the possibilities.

Context of role:

  • The essence of this job is to bring the lived experience and the strategic thinking of regional community networks inside, establish ‘beachheads’ that will allow marginalised communities to step inside the Secretariat/Federation and shake us up.
  • This is a role for someone who brings their own lived experience and regional networks, who prioritizes collaboration and connection. This work will go beyond the Federation to amplify messages, build alliances and consortia and re-grant to movements and initiatives that matter.
  • The role invokes courage, ambition and aspiration by with MAs and regional colleagues to create partnerships with regional community networks that collectively ensure IPPF, its services and activism becomes more accessible to those traditionally excluded and marginalised.
  • The role will work with MAs and outside the Federation to uncover and connect with non-traditional Partnerships that will make a positive difference to the progress of our work.

  • To establish purpose driven disruptive partnerships with community networks; ensuring they are led by people who have historically been marginalized from the sector, or who could amplify their work through the IPPF platform at the regional level. Partnerships that go beyond speaking together at some regional events to shaping our profile and our work with the MAs and through them with the local excluded community organizations themselves.
