Consultants are typically engaged on a short term basis against agreed terms of reference.

Terms of Reference (ToR) Photographer / Videographer Assignment

Deadline

Title: Photographer / Videographer – Human-Centered Storytelling Mission 
Location: 3 Arab countries (to be confirmed) 
Duration: 2–3 days per mission (on a needs basis) 
Assignment Period: Up to 31 December 2026 
Application Deadline: 15 June 2026 

Background:

We are seeking a skilled and creative photographer/videographer to document community-led initiatives across selected countries in the Arab region. The assignment aims to capture authentic, human-centered stories that reflect dignity, resilience, and access to care, with a strong focus on vulnerable and underserved communities. 

Objective of the Assignment:

To produce high-quality visual content (photography and short video) that highlights human-centered care and community-driven action, showcasing real experiences, voices, and impact on the ground. 

Scope of Work:

The selected consultant will: 

  • Capture high-quality photographs of communities in action, including service delivery and engagement activities  
  • Produce portrait photography that reflects human-centered care and lived experiences  
  • Record short video footage illustrating community-led initiatives  
  • Edit and deliver a set of curated photos and short video clips suitable for communications and advocacy use  
  • Ensure all content reflects dignity, respect, and cultural sensitivity  

Deliverables:

  • A curated set of high-resolution edited photographs  
  • A selection of portraits (human-centered storytelling)  
  • Short edited video clips (and/or a compiled short video)  
  • Raw files (photos and video footage), if requested  

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience in documentary, humanitarian, or community-based photography and videography  
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating human-centered storytelling  
  • Experience working with vulnerable communities and understanding of safeguarding principles  
  • High level of cultural sensitivity and ethical storytelling practices  
  • Flexibility and ability to work in dynamic environments  
  • Proficiency in photo and video editing tools  
  • Fluency in Arabic, French and English required

Ethics, Safeguarding & Conduct:

The photographer/videographer must: 

  • Adhere to strict safeguarding and ethical standards when working with vulnerable populations  
  • Ensure informed consent is obtained prior to capturing images or videos  
  • Respect privacy, dignity, and cultural norms at all times
