The Technical FGM consultant will be based in the Arab World Regional Office in Tunisia and will provide several activities that aim at supporting the ongoing FGM/GBV program. The selected consultant will ensure all activities of the FGM program under the NORAD funding agreement are delivered in a technically accurate and in line with the IPPF Gender Equality policy and the IPPF client-centred clinical guidelines.

S/he will work in close collaboration with the AWRO Member associate support and development Director to ensure safe delivery of FGM project services. S/he will be the focal point for building the capacity of Member Associates to ensure the implementation of safe and appropriate FGM interventions.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical direction that ensures that health interventions related to Sexual and Reproductive health, and FGM/C, are technically sound and harmonized with IPPF client-centred clinical guidelines.
  • Identify the main risks in delivering GBV and FGM/C services in the targeted region, and develop strategies, procedures, and tools to mitigate said risks that are implemented by all consortium members (if needed).
  • Conduct ongoing supervision of GBV and FGM services to ensure they are aligned to the aims of the NORAD project objectives, service delivery needs, and expected results.
  • Ensures that the project workplans for the technical area updated and that timelines and deliverables are being met.
  • Contribute to the production of regular project reporting per donor and project requirements.
  • Deliver and finalize the FGM regional (TOC) Theory of Change and conduct online sessions with regional stakeholders to present.
  • Finalize AWRO evaluation tool for the NORAD project
  • Consolidate the FGM global programming achievements and Draft a summary publication to be used for donors use.
  • Accompany the team for monitoring visit planned in the first quarter of 2023 in relation to FGM project sites.
  • Draft concept note and Agenda for the lesson learned for the CoE annual workshop in Nouakchott.
